The tulip route in the north of the Netherlands must be one of the most beautiful drives in the world. What makes it more special is that this colorful spectacle is only on view for a few weeks of the year – in April and May.
Most people who want to see Holland’s famous tulips go to Keukenhof where there’s a concentration of every color tulip you can think of. (Except the ever elusive black ones of course!)
However, the majority of tulips are grown in the Noordoostpolder in Flevoland around this area. And you’re slightly less likely to compete with busloads of tourists. So if you have the time, why don’t you?
